It seems that Chad Pennington has seen the writing on the wall and is pretty much convinced his time as a New York Jet is about to end. As we’ve said here time and again, he’s done a fine job, but he is not the right fit for this team any longer and it is time that the organization cut bait while they still can get value for him.
There are a number of teams that can use a quarterback with his skills–Kansas City, Baltimore, and Miami come immediately to mind. The Jets would be smart to make the best deal they can for him and then look to accumulate as many draft picks as possible to keep this team young, fast, and athletic.
