This whole videotaping issue continues to spiral out of control. It now seems that the Jets were caught videotaping the Pats during their playoff game last season and that the Pats had the cameraman ejected from the area. However, Coach Mangini said that the Pats gave the Jets permission to film behind both end zones.
Of course, the Jets will find it hard to explain themselves after they were the ones to break the Spygate story, so it really doesn’t make any sense to compare the two scenarios here. The fact of the matter is that Coach Belichick hates the Jets and Mangini, and I’m sure there’s no love lost in the opposite direction either.
It’s going to be a hostile atmosphere no matter what, so if the Jets are going to have any hope of being somewhat competitive in this game they’re going to have to focus on the Xs and Os and forget about Spygate and the visceral hatred between the two coaches.
