Another Sunday without Jets football

Coach Mangini wishes he spent Thanksgiving at homeAfter the Thanksgiving Day debacle, it is kind of nice not to have to get worked up over the Jets today. We all can watch football today without getting crazy over Jet miscues, whether it’s Kellen Clemens getting picked off or the defensive line giving up big run after big run.

As we move into December and 5 games left to go, let’s hope Gang Green plays out the string with some pride. The schedule is not pretty–the only winnable game that I see is next week at Miami. Other than that, it’s Cleveland at home, at New England (can it be possible to be a three-digit underdog?), at Tennessee, and at home against Kansas City, where it would be nice to send Herm Edwards back to Missouri crying into his sweatshirt.

I watched a little bit of college football over the last few days, and I will try to watch a little more as bowl season approaches so I can see who some of the big players are and who might be the best fit for the Jets in the 2008 Draft (who isn’t?).

Enjoy the games today, and let’s all collectively hope for an incredible upset with the Eagles beating the Patriots tonight.
