Well, now you know why I don’t make a living as a professional football prognosticator. I totally misread this game–I sincerely thought the Jets would play the Cowboys tough yesterday. Guess not.
The Jets were outclassed, plain and simple. They did not excel in any phase of the game–it seemed like one team was prepared to play and one wasn’t.
The Jet defensive line tried to be aggressive, but Tony Romo and Marion Barber saw to it to keep them off-balance. Plus, Romo didn’t have to scramble out of the pocket, and he was very accurate hitting his receivers in wide open spaces.
Offensively…what offense? The Jets could do nothing–Thomas Jones was ineffective, and Kellen Clemens was up against a buzzsaw. Terence Newman’s interception sealed the game, and those of us watching the game were just hoping the desserts were ready.
The Jets are now off until they travel to Miami next Sunday–what a contest that will be! Hopefully, the time off will allow them to fix the many holes they demonstrated yesterday. It’s a shame the Jets laid such an egg after a great effort against the Steelers, but when you’ve only won two games this season, this is the sort of thing that can happen.
Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and managed to keep your food down, especially after this performance.
