  • jetshelmet.jpgThe Redskins are still reeling over their 52-7 pasting by the Patriots last Sunday, and there have been indications that some of the players believe that Bill Belichick was running up the score on them. As has been uttered in the media over the last few days, these are professional football players, so they are getting paid for their “suffering” and are not an overmatched college team getting whipped up on by a Top 10 school. However, you have to be a little surprised when leading 38-0 when you (the Patriots) decide to go for it on fourth down instead of either kicking a field goal, punting, or even taking a knee. Plus, Belichick is setting up his team to be subjected to the same thing somewhere down the road and the immediate possibility of an opposing player intentionally hurting one of his players, specifically Tom Brady.
  • In today’s Macon Telegraph the Jets were listed as number 29 on its NFL Power Rankings. It also mentions briefly that the Vikings should place a call to the Jets and Chad Pennington after the season. Not a bad thought…
  • The New York Daily News’ Rich Cimini published his Jets midseason report card today, and the grades are pretty ugly. At the “top of the class” are the receivers who got a collective C+. The quarterbacks (mostly Chad Pennington) got a D, the running backs a C (with the caveat that Thomas Jones is being underused), and the defense got Ds. Coach Mangini also got a D, and the front office earned a C-. Obviously, for the Jets to pull their grades up above the 2.0 (C) grade average, they’re going to have work extra hard and pay attention in class. The finals ought to be interesting…
