Jets 31, Dolphins 28
How nice to be able to put the Jets at the front of that sentence! They didn’t make it easy, especially late. That last touchdown drive by the Dolphins which took them about 2 minutes to score was disturbing, to say the least. Plus, again, the Jets defense did not generate much of a pass rush, but the offense definitely took care of things.
Chad Pennington looked good coming off his injury, and Thomas Jones looked like the feature back we expected to see. Earlier this week I said I wasn’t in favor of Leon Washington returning kickoffs, but a 98-yard TD has certainly changed my mind. In addition, the offensive line looked very good by opening nice holes for Jones and keeping Pennington upright.
All in all, a satisfying victory. The defense is not scaring anybody right now, but they do head up to Buffalo next week and their offense is pretty pitiful, so things might even out. Let’s hope Gang Green can continue to right the ship and move ahead.
